Remember the Mystics!

A South Oak Cliff High School band called the "Mystics" won a recording contract in 1966 and for six weeks had the #1 record in the Dallas area that record was called "Didn't we have a Good Time." However, they never made it to the "big time." Here is a picture of them at Kiest Park.

- Thanks to Alan Struble

(I remember "Didn't we have a Good Time" being played about 100 times a day on KLIF! - Editor)

Mystics1 I have my fondest memories of growing up in Oak Cliff in the Sixties going to Clara Oliver, T. L Marsalis, R.L. Thornton, Boude Story, James Bowie, W.E. Greiner. Yes we moved around a lot those years of 1957-1968. My brother was the drummer for the "Mystics." South Oak Cliff High School is where they all grouped up.

My brother Glenn works down at the Pocket Sandwich Theatre over on Mockingbird lane I will have to tell him about you sister head up the fan club he might know her. David Mitchell the Bass Player lived on Marsalis just down from SOC.
